Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- Though she is an A-list director today, Farah Khan
spent most of her Bollywood career as a successful choreographer.
So
when she visited the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) 5 with co-star
Boman Irani to promote their upcoming movie Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal
Padi recently, she couldn't help but judge the choreographers.
The
result: she was thoroughly impressed. And actor Rashmi Desai's
choreographer Deepak Singh walked away with an unexpected reward.
Deepak
performed a fusion of samba and some Bollywood dance forms, which
prompted Farah to applaud his style. She loved it so much that she
immediately offered him an opportunity to work with her in the next film
she makes.
A very excited Deepak says, "I still can't believe
that my dream has come true. I wanted to work with her for the longest
time and now to have her on the show and praise me is a big achievement.
She told me that if she had known that I had wanted to work with her,
she would've given me a break a long time ago. I was dumbfounded when
she told me that I'd be working with her on her next project."
A
big fan of Farah's, Deepak was focussed on this week's dance performance
and it seems his partner Rashmi was his lucky charm. In an earlier
season, Deepak had partnered with actor Prachi Desai, who won the
trophy. In this season, he teamed up with Pratyusha Banerjee, who was
eliminated due to an illness in the fourth round. He returned to the
show with Rashmi as a wildcard entry and got the big-break he had been
waiting for.
