My only aim is to win: Darsheel Safary

Darsheel Safary has put on his dancing shoes for " Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" ("JDJ") on Colors. The 16-year-old confesses to being a huge fan of Madhuri Dixit's smile and feels that it is going to be a challenge for him to fulfill the expectations of judges. Excerpts from the chat:

On his Participation
Dancing is my second love after acting. It is like a dream come true. I am in competition with myself and my aim is to win. I want to show people that I can dance and act.

On the offer
First the "JDJ" people approached my dad. Initially, I was in two minds because I am in X standard and I was thinking whether I would be able to do the show along with my school projects. Now, I do my dance practice at home and whenever I have time in between shoots, I study.

On his favourite dance forms
I enjoy hip hop, robot dancing and break dancing. I am looking forward to learning new styles like Latin American.

On his movie projects
I have completed Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children. I do only one project a year. My dad always calls up Aamir uncle to seek his advice and blessings before I take up anything. Even before "JDJ", my father spoke to him. Aamir uncle was happy with me taking up the show. Aamir uncle is also on TV these days with his show. I watched the first episode of his show and liked it.

On his leisure activities
Apart from acting and dancing, I love playing cricket and street football. But due to my busy schedule, I am not able to play much now. Earlier, I was even taking cricket coaching at the Gymkhana Cricket Grounds. I enjoy watching cricket. Do you know that I have met Sanath (Jayasuriya) uncle before this show? It was while I was returning from Sri Lanka after shooting Midnight's Children, that I met him on the plane. I took his autograph and even got a picture clicked with him. He is one of the legends of the game and I enjoyed watching him play during the first two seasons of the IPL when he was with Team Mumbai. I wish him luck on the show
