Interview of Darsheel Safary for Jhalak

Child actor Darsheel Safary, who gained immense popularity after essaying the character of a dyslexic child Ishaan in the movie Taare Zameen Par, has been a part of the Shiamak Dawar's dance group. Darsheel has always wished to show his dancing talent to the audience on-screen. Darsheel has been paired to dance with Avneet Kaur in the show and their dancing will be choreographed by Jai Kumar Nair. With his participation in Jhalak, it's a dream come true for him. Here's Darsheel sharing his feelings about being a part of the show.

After showing your acting talent, you have now got a chance to show your dancing talent to the world with your participation in Jhalak. How are you feeling?
It's a great feeling to be a part of the show. It's a dream come true for me. I have now got a better platform to show my dancing talent to the world. I must say that acting is my first love and dancing is my second.

How's the preparation going on?

It's going great. Avneet and I are trying hard to put our best foot forward so that we could win the hearts of the judges as well as the audiences.

Who's going to be the toughest competitor for you?

All the contestants have the capability to give a tough competition to me. We all are going to have a tough fight amongst us. But apart from that all of us are working like a team and each and every contestant is going to give his/her best effort in dancing.

Being the youngest contestant of the show. Are you nervous?

Yeah a little bit (smiles). I will practice hard and will manage to overcome it soon.

Which is the dance form that you have mastered?

I know hip hop, locking and popping and with this platform, I am trying to learn the other forms too.

How's the co-ordination going on with your choreographer?

We have a very good co-ordination with Jai sir. He is a very good dancer as well as a good choreographer. He makes us learn each and every step very easily. Sometimes he makes us laugh also. Avneet and I are having fun being trained under his guidance. He motivates us to give our best performance on stage saying, "Todo, Fodo, Dhoom Machao" (laughs). His way of choreographing our dance performances is just 'Bindaas'.

What are your expectations for winning the show?

If I will work hard, I will win. I have to give my best effort in order to emerge as the winner of the show. The competition is tough and I am trying to give my best in the rehearsals so that I can impress the judges as well as the audiences by my performance.

You have been a part of the Shiamak Dawar's dance group. Have you got any good wishes from him for Jhalak?

From the time I have been approached for the show till date, we haven't got a chance to interact with each other. But, I know that his good wishes and blessings are always with me and I will follow his teachings at every step.
