Choreographer-turned-director Remo D’souza talks about his chemistry with jury members in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 5 and his 3D film. Team Viva reports
Judging well-known faces on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 5, is
proving more difficult than judging contestants at public dance reality
shows for choreographer-turned-director Remo D’souza.
He said, “They already have stardom with them. People love their
work. I sometimes find it difficult to give my honest opinions bluntly. I
have to watch what I say.”
He likes judging amateurs and trained dancers though.
“In Dance India Dance (DID), I trained amateurs. I feel
satisfied now when I see them perform brilliantly.” So what can we look
forward to in Jhalak..? He commented, “Dance. There are contestants like
Talat Aziz and Sushil Kumar who are not trained dancers. I’ll be seeing
their passion, hard work and effort.”
Sanath Jayasuriya is Remo’s favorite. “I am his big fan. The show has
just begun. In the first episode I told him where he lacked and what he
did best,” adding “I like everyone. Darsheel Safari is the youngest and
cutest. Bharti, though fat, is giving her best.”
Talking about the chemistry with other judges, like Madhuri Dixit and
filmmaker Karan Johar, he said “I worked with Madhuriji during the
previous season of Jhalak. I was nervous when I learnt that Karan Johar
would be on board, but he’s fun.” Remo is busy with his expensive,
dance-centric film, Any One Can Dance (ABCD).
“We finished shooting. We will announce the release date.”
Remo concluded saying, “I have been working on this film for very
long. The script took seven years. It’s in 3D. I always wanted to do an
action-dance film” he concluded.
