Kushal Punjabi and Salman Khan 'bond over football' in Jhalak

With the popular cult of Bollywood stars promoting their films on television shows, the actors of the Telly industry seem amused and excited to welcome their favorite superstars of the 70 mm screens.

It was a starry night when the ‘bhai’ of the Bollywood fraternity, Salman Khan made a dashing entry on Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa- Season 7 to promote his upcoming film Kick. While the contestants were extremely delighted with his down to earth jovial nature, there was one contestant who took the opportunity to take Salman down his memory lane.

The strong wild card entrant, Kushal Punjabi went up to Salman, greeted him and recounted the good old days when he played football with Salman and his star brothers, Sohail and Arbaaz Khan during the early dawn of his career.

An elated Kushal elaborated, “I was initially apprehensive as to how Salman would react if I reminded him. Would he nod as a gesture of formality? But given the fact that he is a great human being, he acknowledged me and was surprised to know that I too used to join him at D’ monte Park in Bandra to play the sport. I still remember how we used to take our shirts off, have a lot of fun dodging the football and scoring goals. Also, Sohail and I both were fond of bikes. So we shared some good memories on that front too.”

Talking about their encounter, Kushal noted that the spark of having a star status always beamed through Salman’s personality. Kushal stated, “Salman was a ‘dude’ during his younger days and he still is.”

It is time for some great bonding we guess!

When we asked Kushal about his next performance, he said, “It is challenging given the fact that I have a right shoulder injury. There are times when my arms and back pain a lot but I am nursing my injury well. My next act would be no ordinary dance style. It will bring out my wild and aggressive streak.”

We wish you luck with your next performance Kushal!!!

Manish Paul enjoying the 'bromance' with co-host Ranvir Shorey on Jhalak

Why shouldn't boys have all the fun. That seems to be the mantra of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 (Colors) hosts Ranvir Shorey and Manish Paul. While the former has been associated with this season of the show right from the very beginning, Manish was drafted in as a last minute replacement after Drashti Dhami was shown the door by the producers (BBC Worldwide Productions) owing to her poor hosting skills. With the skilled Manish back in the groove, things seem to have improved a whole lot in terms of spontaneity and wit.

Ask him about his bromance with co-host Ranvir Shorey, Manish says, "It's going very good. So far so good. We both come with different hosting abilities. He has his own sense of humour and I have mine."

The fact that Manish was not the first choice emcee barely bothers him. "I don't think about all these things. I share a special relationship with Colors and when I got a call from them, I instantaneously said yes. In fact, I was holidaying when I got a call from Colors asking me to host. I just had to sort out a few dates for my film assignments and thankfully Colors took care of all those and accommodated me," asserts Manish.

Being an emcee, Manish prefers to remain tight-lipped on he thinks could win the show this seasons. "All are my favourites," says Manish with naughty wink before signing off.

"I am happy that I will be performing as Kiku" - Kiku Sharda

Funny man Kiku Sharda finally will come in his original avatar on Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa Season 7.

Talented actor Kiku Sharda is popularly known for his witty and comical character of Palak in the comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors. His Palak's character has gained him immense popularity over the period of time.

Thus when he participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa, the channel decided to present Kiku as Palak on the stage of Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa Season 7.

But now the time has come when the viewers see Kiku as himself. The channel Colors and Kiku has decided to give a proper end to Palak's character in a very interesting way.

We tried contacted Kiku to know how he is feeling as after a long time he is coming back in his original avatar.

Kiku says, "Yes I am happy that I will be performing as Kiku. I know Palak is fun and quite famous, but to perform on the stage of Jhalak as Palak is little difficult. Dancing as Palak restrict me from doing different forms, being both the girls it becomes very difficult. We cannot do couple dance or romantic dance and many more. We had to stick to girlie songs and include feminine steps. Now as I will dance like Kiku, it will be more easy for me as I can dance freely in my way because when I dance as Palak I have to do steps carefully so that it doesn't appear to be odd as it should look like a female and not like a male for which I had to put extra efforts."

"From the start it was fixed that after sometime I will come as Kiku in the show but when, it was not decided. Later we had a meeting and it's my and channel's decision together that it is the right time to end Palak's character because the level of competition has also increased. Basically what will happen, Salman Khan will come on Jhalak and there he will take away Palak with him and this is how Palak's character will come to an end," concludes Kiku.

We wishes Kiku all the best!

When Madhuri, Remo and KJo performed 'tango' on the stage of Jhalak

It’s always a treat for the eyes to see the ravishing Madhuri Dixit Nene perform on stage. And when her act gets complemented with that of the popular choreographer Remo D’Souza, that too on a platform as huge as the dance floor of Colors’ popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (BBC), then there’s no looking back!!

Well, this is exactly what the viewers will get a taste of in this weekend’s episode. Madhuri and Remo, the judges on the show getting on stage to perform, only to be joined in later by the other judge, Karan Johar.

So what did they perform on?

The popular judges of Jhalak performed a tango on the number ‘Muskaan Joothi Hai’.

A witness from the sets of Jhalak said, “The act was in no way pre-decided. The judges could simply not stop themselves from getting on stage. Such was the impact that the judges had on seeing the contestants perform. Initially, Madhuri and Remo started swaying on ‘Muskaan Joothi Hai’ to steps choreographed by Mohena and Punit. The icing on the cake was when KJo could not resist, and joined them on the dance floor and shook his leg too.”

Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 7 is back with a bang. And Madhuri Dixit is all set to judge Jhalak Dikhla Jaa for the seventh time. If you are  hoping to see Madhuri Dixit in some pretty sarees watch Madhuri this time. She looks too stylish in this outfit.

Madhuri Dixit sported a skirt from H&M and teamed it up with a loose-fitting black shirt. The green sequined skirt added a pop of colour to the look and Madhuri was smart enough to tone it down with the black shirt. The earrings were green matching the green pencil skirt . And Madhuri Dixit glided on to the stage in black sandals with ankle straps.Anaita Shroff Adajania is styling her this season.

Love her look and hoping more such looks on her.

Sreesanth reveals dancing helped him overcame dark phase

S Sreesanth, who is banned from cricket for spot fixing, has found his new love in music and dance.
Despite six surgeries both in left and right toes, former Indian cricketer has dancided to participate on a TV show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7". He revealed that the show was like a "therapy" for him in this bad phase.

Despite being passionate about dancing, Sreesanth was worried while signing for "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7" in the beginning.

Banned speedster, as per IANS, claimed: "I was a little confused in the beginning, whether to sign up for the show or not since it's a reality show and it involves voting. But my family, and especially my wife supported me, and I grabbed the opportunity."

After his involvement in Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing last year, Sreesanth, who is currently out on bail, is trying his hand at something new.

"Music and dance is in my blood. All my family members have given a lot of preference to art. They all have a career in art. I'm the only one who built a career in cricket."

When asked which one did he enjoy the most - cricket or dance? Sreesanth replied: "I love both. I loved playing cricket and I love my journey here. I love whatever I do."

Show will go on air on June 7, the show will see as many as 13 contestants trying with three judges - filmmaker Karan Johar, actress Madhuri Dixit and dance guru Remo D'Souza.

I want to experiment on 'Nach Baliye 6': Gurmeet Choudhary

TV actor Gurmeet Choudhary | IANS
TV actor Gurmeet Choudhary, the winner of dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5", is all set for another dance competition with "Nach Baliye 6". He is keen to experiment with more dance forms when he gets on the floor with his actress wife Debina Bonnerjee.

"For the first time we are dancing together and I am sure the audience will love it. The second thing is that since I won 'Jhalak...', people know that I am good at dancing so they must be expecting something new and that's a challenge for us," Gurmeet told IANS.

"Our motive is to do something different on the show, something that the audience has not seen, so that every week the audience waits for our performance," he added.

The couple first shared screen space in the mythological show "Ramayan". They tied the knot in 2011.

After "Ramayan" this is the first time they will be seen on screen together.

Talking about ''Nach Baliye" Debina says "It's my favourite show. Gurmeet and I have been following it since the first season. We did 'Ramayan', and now 'Nach Baliye 6' has given us a good opportunity to be together. I am like a 'Nach Baliye' dictionary. I can tell you exactly which participant wore what in the previous seasons.

"We saw the first season together and I always wanted to be a part of 'Nach Baliye'. We actually opted to be on TV so that we can participate in the show. I have already picturised me and Gurmeet performing on 'Nach Baliye' sets," she added.

Gurmeet and Debina both feel that their journey in the show will not be a professional one. They won't have any strategies as they both want to enjoy their togetherness.

"We don't think it will be a professional journey for us. We have each other for support and help, so it will be more of an emotional one. We have not chalked out a strategy, we will take things as they come," the couple said.

"Nach Baliye" is a celebrity couple dance reality show that first went on air in 2005.

Judged by actress Shilpa Shetty, director Sajid Khan and choreographer Terence Lewis, "Nach Baliye 6" is expected to go on air in November on Star Plus.

Aarti Chhabria eliminated from Jhalak Season 6

Aarti Chhabria started with a bang on Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 (BBC Worldwide) but things went haywire for this sexy siren from thereon.
In the last few weeks, we witnessed the actress fight for her survival in the faceoff sessions, but her injury caused her a major harm.

As reported earlier, Aarti had hurt her ribs while rehearsing for one of her acts and performing thereon was really tough for her.

In fact, she was in the faceoff session once again with Karanvir Bohra this week. But while Karanvir managed to burn the dance floor with his energetic act, Aarti missed to strike the right chord with the audiences and judges.

Thus, she will be seen walking out of the show in tonight’s (13 July 2013) episode.

We wish you great career ahead a… Aarti!!!

Siddharth Shukla gives up on "gym" and "sleep" for Jhalak...

Siddharth Shukla, better known as Shiv of Colors’ Balika Vadhu, is one actor who has been going all out and putting his heart and soul into every performance of his in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 (BBC Worldwide), airing on the same channel.
Why do we say so? Well, the brawny man has given up on gymming and even sleep to perfect his moves.

“Everything has been very chaotic of late. Since, the set of Balika Vadhu is at Naigaon, it is one hour travelling one way every day.

After this, I go for the Jhalak rehearsals where I have to stay till late in the night to practice as I am such a splendid dancer (smiles sarcastically). This leaves me with no time to sleep,” avers Siddharth.

“I have been sleeping for just three to four hours a day. Since, I am sleep-deprived all the time, I try and take naps during my break hours in shoot or while I am travelling,” he adds.

So, no gym either? “There is no time for gym,” he states.

Talking about his friendship with the wildcard entrant Sana Saeed, he quips, “We have known each other since a very long time. Sana and I worked together in Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na.”

The artiste also talks about his phobia that bothers him a lot during his performances. “Last week, during my performance, I went in the wrong direction from my choreographer as I was too distracted,” he reveals.

What actually caused this distraction? “When we started the performance, my leg hit Soniya (his choreographer) and I got too conscious about her being hurt because of me. Hence, I just couldn’t concentrate on the performance and it showed. I have always had this phobia of hitting my dance partner. This is why whenever I dance I maintain a safe distance from the other as my intention is not to hurt anyone,” Siddharth maintains.

That’s really sweet Siddharth, but we just hope you conquer your fears and rock the Jhalak stage!!!

"I have never restricted myself from trying different things"

The Bollywood starlet, Aarti Chabria who was seen as a contestant on the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa – Dancing with the Stars on Colors, got eliminated this week from the show. This week the face off was between Aarti Chhabria and Karanvir Bohra in which Aarti lost the battle and got eliminated. But well as we say that something ending is a start of something new, is no different for this talented girl too.

Actress Aarti Chhabria besides being an actor is a very good dancer too as we have seen in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. She came up with spectacular performances every week on the show along with her choreographer Cornell. Even though being badly injured she never gave up to quit the show but smartly handled the situation and gave her best performances even when she was in pain.

A fighter in the true sense Aarti talks to TellyBuzz about her journey throughout Jhalak, the thing that she will miss the most about being a part of Jhalak, about her acting and much more.

Let's have a look on what she said…
How has your journey been in Jhalak dikhla Jaa?

My journey in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa was very interesting. I faced ups and downs but it is a part and parcel of life. I started off with 8 as my score, after which I got more and sometimes less marks too. Overall it was a brilliant experience for me and I enjoyed every part of it. Dance has always been my love and I was very happy to take up Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. I lost weight and have become much slimmer too. I met lots of new people and made good friends too on the show.

What made you take up Jhalak Dikhla Jaa?

I used to watch the previous seasons of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and I used to like the show and its concept very much. It was like the best dance reality show for me on my favorite channel on television namely Colors, and hence even I wanted to be a part of it and take my passion for dance ahead.

Are you a trained dancer?

I wouldn't say that I am a trained dancer as whatever I know comes from the Bollywood dance that I have done in my movies. It is a film experience I would say. Apart from that since my childhood I have been very enthusiastic when it used to come to dance. I love Indian classical very much and I had kept it for the last to be shown on the show but well before that I got eliminated.

Your most memorable moment on Jhalak?

As a whole the entire journey of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has been very memorable for me. Right from the very first episode that I started till now, it has been superb. Judges' comments, each performance, learning different forms of dancing and much more is what I am going to take along with me from this show.

How was Cornell as a choreographer?

We were like two friends who shared a love-hate relationship throughout. He was a real task master I would say. He was my guru and I got to learn a lot from him. After my injury he kept the choreography simple so that I don't find much difficulty. Many a times it would so happen that I would not be able to do the dance moments and I used to tell him that don't you see that I cannot perform this, and he used to encourage me saying I can. It was a nice and funny time that I spent with him.

What will you miss about Jhalak Dikhla Jaa?

I will miss the people behind the camera, the Colors channel people, the PR team who was along with us and the BBC crew. It was like a Jhalak home for me. I bonded really well along with them. They were very kind and encouraging. Even when I got injured, they used to keep asking me about my health. I will miss them all.

Who do you think is the strongest contender on Jhalak and has the chances to win?

Honestly I would say that Lauren dances beautifully, I like her performances and the way she dances. Even we all know that Salman is a superb choreographer and lucky is the celeb (Drashti Dhami, this year) who gets him as a choreographer. So also Mukti Mohan from the wild card entry dances really well. We have been seeing Shaan and his growth in dancing on the show. He is an untrained dancer but he dances very good too now. But if we go through the format of the show I would want a non dancer to win the show.

What do you think about the wild card entry contestants?

I find all of them really good. Sana has a very good energy and that is a plus point for her. Mantra is dramatic in whatever he does, so he tries to get into the character which is very nice. Karan Patel is very good too, he is one very honest and witty person on the sets of Jhalak and I like him for that. Mukti Mohan dances gracefully and very well too.

Do you think it was a fair elimination?

Yes, it was absolutely a fair elimination. I feel I have survived a good 6 weeks on the show even after being injured. I am happy with the elimination. I take life as it comes and I believe in what happens, it happens for good. I was injured and I needed rest too. My doctor had told me to strictly take 3 weeks bed rest but I couldn't because I did not want to quit Jhalak. Come may what may, I wanted to give my performances. I am a fighter and I am happy with my performances and the eliminations.

Who is your favorite judge on the show?

Madhuri Dixit has been my idol and will always stay so. But Karan Johar was absolutely brilliant. His comments were to the point and very accurate and also he has a superb sense of humor. He is a very fair human being. So I would say that Karan Johar was one of my favorite judge on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.

It has been long that we saw you in movies, had you taken a break?

I was never away from movies, After my last movie which I did in 2011, I took up the show Fear Factor, then I went to New York to do a course in Film making, After that I did a Punjabi movie and now I am doing Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. So I was never free, my schedule has been very busy so far. I have also done movies in different languages namely Telugu and Kannada. I have never restricted myself from doing anything in life. I like taking up different things to explore my talent. If you see I have not limited myself to movies only, I have been trying many different things at the same time.

But will we see you soon in Movies?

My Punjabi movie Viyaah 70 km is all set to release this coming September. Apart from that Bollywood has always welcomed me with arms wide open. So if I get a good opportunity my way, I would really be very happy to grab it.

We wish Aarti Chabria good luck for her career!

Homesick Sumanth and Sonali get a treat at Siddharth's home!

The dashing Siddharth Shukla who is seen playing the role of Shiv in the daily soap Balika Vadhu on Colors and also seen as a contestant on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa on Colors, invited his cute little contestant friends Sonali and Sumanth from Jhalak.. at his home as they were feeling home sick.
We have seen different sides of Siddharth Shukla on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa as a dancer, actor, a rough and tough guy and a prankster. This time we got to see a very soft side of the tough guy.

We got news from our sources who informed us saying, "When Siddharth Shukla got to know that Sumanth and Sonali are feeling homesick he immediately planned to take them to their home and make them feel homely at his home. He served them some delicious homemade food made by his mom."

"The kids saw a very soft side of the tough guy Siddharth. They enjoyed a lot at his place. The kids looked absolutely thrilled and felt very much close to their home."

On the same we called Siddharth Shukla and he said, "They are too young and I know how it feels when you are away from your family. Even though how much ever you enjoy with your friends at the end you always miss your parents very much if you are away from them. Keeping that in mind I called them at my home so that they feel good. Seeing them happy makes me feel happy."

Seems he just loves the adorable kids Sonali and Sumanth, "I enjoyed a lot with them at my home. They are very cute kids and I love them very much. I am a fan of their dancing. I feel they are just the best among all the other contestants on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa."

But well we must say that it was really nice of Siddharth to think about the cute little kids Sumanth and Sonali.
